Beggars Corporation has offered the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, to recruit beggars from its SMILE-Beggary project areas and provide them jobs.
On 19th March, Founder & CEO of the Corporation Chandra Mishra met the Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar in New Delhi and briefed him regarding the proposal. Mr. Mishra was accompanied by our Noida-based Tech Partner Avinash Kumar Singh
The Ministry is implementing SMILE-Beggary scheme in 181 cities of the country in partnership with the NGOs and urban local bodies. While the Ministry takes care of short-term rehabilitation and training, the Corporation will provide them sustainable employment.
1,00,000 Beggars to Get Jobs in 3 Years
The Corporation proposed a strategic partnership with the Ministry to recruit 1 lakh (100,000) beggars over a period of 3 years from its project areas. The Beggars Employment Exchange would serve as a comprehensive platform for the following activities:
Registration: The implementing agencies will register beggars from their project areas who want to leave begging and work. blue-collar job market suitable for the beggars.
Demand Mapping: The Corporation will track sector-wise demand-supply gap and identify potential employers in the blue-collar job market suitable for the beggars.
Skill Assessment and Training: Partnering with vocational training institutes to provide skills in various sectors, including hospitality, logistics, healthcare, retail, and housekeeping.
Job Placement and Mentorship: The Corporation will also facilitate job placements with its network of corporate partners and mentoring to ensure successful transition and workplace integration.
Social Security & Labor Law: It will also coordinate with both the beggars and the employers for implementation of the statutory provisions of the labor law and social security norms.

Citizens for Begging-Free India - A Socio-Economic Movement
According to the economists, Beggars Corporation is the only organization in the world that works for the extreme poor, but NOT AN NGO. Incorporated on August 12, 2022, as a For-Profit company, and recognised by DPIIT, Government of India, as a Social Impact Startup, it introduces an innovative model called PROFIT WITH PURPOSE.
To turn it into a socio-economic re-evolution, it connects well-off citizens to invest in the ventures of the beggars under its ONE BEGGAR, ONE MENTOR #OBOM programme. On June 30, 2023, it launched Citizens for Begging Free India #CBFI to involve its Social Investors and Member Customers directly in this mission. The CBFI was dedicated to the nation, #Rashtrarpan, jointly by economist Dr. Sreevas Sahasranam from the United Kingdom and Padmashree Dr. Rajnikant from Varanasi.
